It takes a lot for me to speak badly about a business, but I have never been treated as badly as Waikem Hyundai and the Waikem Auto Family has treated us over the last 6 years since we have leased/purchased our car from them. Rude, careless service including damage done to our interior and lying about doing work on the car that was never completed only scratches the surface. Bottom line...save yourself the headache and take your business elsewhere! Shameful business practices.
Service Department is worthless. My husband has a 2017 Ionic that has been stalling out driving down the freeway. Couldn’t get it started for a half hour and then finally got it restarted. Did it again the next day. Took it to Waikem and couldn’t figure out the problem. They just said it was prob some recall and replaced that. Then on the way home after it was supposedly fixed went to turn and the engine just revved, car didn’t go anywhere and then it all of a sudden leaped forward. Did it twice. Bought a 2015 Sonata brand new....junk! Class action lawsuit over faulty engine, engine seized up and they replaced it but it is still not right. They refuse to buy it back and they aren't worth the loan value to trade in. BEWARE! Hyundai Corporate will not help, the lawsuit department won't help, dealership won't help...they just all blame each other. Filing complaints after months of hassle and wasted time. Service department is awful. On 2 separate occasions. I will not go back.
Took my car in for a recall at first they made me very comfortable and satisfied I got the car back did a ton of front end work on the car then the check engine light came back on so I took it back for Waikem to fix the problem (was apart of the recalls work) they came up with a bill totaling over 500 dollars and assured me that it wasn’t apart of the recall and I had to pay it so I did the issue came back after I did and they hit stuff in my car causing body and front end damage to the vehicle and are refusing to fix or add... read more
I will never take my car there for service again. Charlie will never touch my car, I will drive to Green for any service problems from now on. He lied about fixing my seat belt issue, and when asked about replacing my cabin filter, and I said no, he crammed a bunch of paper and stuff onto it before putting it back. I changed it as soon as I got home. Must have been mad I didn’t let them do it for a high cost.
I went in for recall service. Service department was polite and fast. But really didn't explain the recalls, so I have no idea what the update on the computer is supposed to do. They did a good job inspecting, and pointed out things that should be done soon.
